Neil’s passion is helping his team members achieve their personal and professional goals and building long lasting relationships with his clients.
Neil began his career with Ernst & Young (E&Y), where he performed what is believed to be the first SAS 70 examination completed in India. He helped start the IT Audit and SAS 70 practice for E&Y India. After moving to E&Y’s U.S. practice, he was responsible for leading and managing the SAS 70 practice within the Southeast area. His responsibilities included overseeing the completion of over 30 significantly large SAS 70 examinations annually and assisting in the development of the E&Y’s firm-wide SAS 70 examination methodology and training. Neil was responsible for financial statement and information systems auditing, governance, risk assessments, controls implementation and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
Neil has been actively involved in working with clients to educate and help them through various initiatives around ISAE 3402, Assurance Reports on Controls at a Third Party Service Organization; the US equivalent – Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE 16) Reporting on Controls at a Service Organization; and the new Service Organization Controls (SOC 2) Reports.
Neil has served a diverse group of clients ranging from some of the largest corporations (Global 1000, Fortune 500) across the globe to small business entrepreneurs. He has been heavily involved in the accounting and auditing profession and served as the Co-chair of E&Y’s Southeast Pan-Asian Professionals Network and also served as a Board Member of the Atlanta Chapter of Ascend, a national organization formed to enhance the presence and influence of current and future business leaders of Asian and Pacific Islander descent. Neil is one of the preferred instructors for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (AICPA) SOC School, a class for practitioners seeking instruction on how to provide services related to SOC 1, 2, and 3. He is also an active presenter and speaker at various industry seminars and conferences.
